Don’t Chase Happiness

Happiness is like a butterfly: the more you chase it, the more it will elude you. But if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.

Anything you chase too much you chase away from you; but when you relax, enjoy yourself, and expect that great unexpected things will happen, it’s more likely that they will. How many couples haven’t we heard about that have tried to get a baby, but they struggle for years, and the day they stop trying, somebody in the house is suddenly pregnant.

The same goes for relationships and attracting a partner. If all you do and think about is finding a partner, you push away the chance of attracting the right partner, at the right place and at the right time. When you push too much trying to get something, you won’t attract things to happen naturally and in the best way possible. It usually works the opposite way of how you want it to.
When God think you’re ready and that it’s time for you to meet a partner, He will send somebody your way. When you’re not ready and it’s not the right time, it doesn’t matter how much you chase it, you won’t find a partner who is right for you.

Many people have learned this the hard way; they hurried with getting into a relationship, and when they get into it they are depressed, miserable, and unhappy.
The same goes with career and everything else we want; when it’s the right time, God will give it to us. It’s amazing the miracles that can happen when you just stop stressing and start trusting God to bring you what you want and need, when the time is right.

Wait for God, and trust His timing when it comes to career, relationships, children, and anything else you want and need in your life.
