Walking On Fire

Don’t Compromise And You Will Be Given The Crown Of Life

From the book Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover.

Revelation 2:9:
I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich), and the blasphemy by those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days.

Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were three brave people. They refused to worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar had put up. Even though they knew that they risked and ended up being put through the fire, they chose to not compromise their belief and faithfulness to their own God.

Daniel 3:24:
Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astounded and stood up in haste; he said to his high officials, “Was it not three men we cast bound into the midst of the fire?” They replied to the king, “Certainly, O king.”
He said, “Look! I see four men loosed and walking about in the midst of the fire without harm, and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods!” Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the door of the furnace of blazing fire; he responded and said, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, come out, you servants of the Most High God, and come here!”
Then Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the midst of the fire. The satraps, the prefects, the governors and the king’s high officials gathered around and saw in regard to these men that the fire had no effect on the bodies of these men nor was the hair of their head singed, nor were their trousers damaged, nor had the smell of fire even come upon them.

If you put on your armor of faith while you’re going through the fire, you too will come out of it released from the bondage that you had before you got cast into it, and you will not even smell like fire.
Sometimes we get put through the test of faithfulness, and you pass the test by being faithful to God and His Word and by not compromising.

God sometimes allows us to go through the fire, not to hurt us but to purify, strengthen, refine, and free us from bondage and sin. When you come out of it, you will not even smell like fire; instead you will be a better person than what you were before you were in it.
That’s what happens when God starts renewing you; you go through the fire without anybody else even knowing it, and suddenly you are a new, better, changed, born-again person, and people wonder what happened to you. Because they couldn’t see or smell the fire.

1 Corinthians 3:13:
Their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work.

You Earn Respect By Passing The Test

When you go through the fire without getting burnt and refuse to compromise but keep your integrity, you will get respect from the people around you just like these three brave servants of God.
After Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the fire, the king Nebuchadnezzar had great respect for their faithfulness towards their God the Most High.
He knew that only true children of God would stand through the fire and pass the test.

Daniel 3:28:
Nebuchadnezzar responded and said, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who put their trust in Him, violating the king’s command, and yielded up their bodies so as not to serve or worship any god except their own God.
Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation or tongue that speaks anything offensive against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego shall be torn limb from limb and their houses reduced to a rubbish heap, inasmuch as there is no other god who is able to deliver in this way.” Then the king caused Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to prosper in the province of Babylon.

Cleansing Fire

Zechariah 13:9:
This third I will bring into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, “They are my people,” and they will say, “The LORD is our God.”

Job 23:10:
But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.

Sometimes we are put to the test and put through the fire to see if we have “gold” within us. If we have the right qualities, we will stand and survive the fire, and we will come out of it purified and refined like gold.

The fire will burn away all bondage, thorns, and weeds that are not serving you any good. And you will be left with what’s really valuable, your true, inner gold that was hidden behind all the walls, darkness, and ignorance.

Malachi 3:3:
He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the LORD will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness.

1 Peter 1:7:
These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Revelation 3:18:
I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

1 Corinthians 3:10:
According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
