The Power Of Prayer

Matthew 18:20: For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.

Mark 9:23: Everything is possible for him who believes.

Matthew 17:7: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

God says in His Word, “Ask and you shall receive”; and a lot of times we don’t have the things we want or need simply because we haven’t asked. Sometimes when we pray, we experience that they don’t get answered in the way that we want them to be, or as fast as we would like them to.

Sometimes we experience them to not be answered at all; if so we have to stop and ask ourselves what the reason can be. Sometimes the answer is simply “no,” because it isn’t the best for us or what we need. Sometimes the answer is “not yet,” that we may receive our answers and our prayers fulfilled at a later moment when it’s more appropriate.

Sometimes He doesn’t do what we ask Him to do, simply because we haven’t done what He has asked us to do.

When your prayers aren’t being answered, ask yourself if you’ve done everything God wants you to do and has asked you to do? Do you have the right behavior and attitude towards other people? Are you obeying Him and His commandments?

When you’ve improved all the areas in your life that God is dealing with you about, then you can start seeing real powers in your prayers and miracles happening. One of the most important things in prayer is faith. Because you work through your prayers, but God works through your faith. Faith is what connects you with God and is what makes the prayers successful.

James 5:13: Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Matthew 17:20: I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 21:21: Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
