A humble person has no need to impress others and to be the best. A person of humility willingly serves, pleases, and cares for other people. The humble person let other people go first on the bus, before them in lines, let others get the best piece of food and let other people watch the television program even though they have something they want to watch.
Humble people work to bring comfort and peace to the people around them, they don’t argue, discuss, and fight. They don’t get easily offended, don’t gloat, brag, or feel better than others.
Humble people easily apologize and say they’re sorry; they easily forgive and let go of other people’s mistakes. They don’t count or keep a record of wrongs done to them and don’t count good deeds done towards other people. They don’t always have to be right or have the last word. They are able to sacrifice and go through discomfort so that others can enjoy comfort.
1 Corinthians 10:24:
Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.
1 Corinthians 10:33:
Even as I try to please everybody in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.
Humility Is Freedom
What freedom you’re going to have that day you let go of the pride and the need to impress everybody and let go of the need to do everything perfectly. So that everybody can think that you don’t have faults and weaknesses, and that you’ve got it all together all the time.
What a freedom it is to stop arguing with people and always being the one who has to be right, have the last word, and always to have to have everything your way to be happy.
What a freedom it is to not stress with being the first and the best all the time, to relax and just let others go first and be the best at times. When you grow your personality into a character of humility, it’s easier for God to work in your life. Pride and ego separate you from God, and humility brings you closer to Him.
For the lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation.
GET HUMBLE AND GET CLOSER TO GOD.
