Cleanse Your Heart and Keep It Clean (So You Can Have Life)

I think that one of the most common things that makes people’s hearts unclean are un-forgiveness, resentment, bitterness, hatred, anger, offense and dishonesty. The Bible says in Proverbs 4:23: “Guard your heart more than anything else, because the source of your life flows from it.”

This scripture shows us that keeping our hearts clean and guarding it is important, because our hearts keeps us alive and it’s what gives us life. What if the state of people’s heart in the spiritual world is affecting their health in the physical world? What if the condition of their heart, and their un-forgiveness and resentment is actually making them physically ill and it’s affecting their health and life quality?

Today lying is normal and many people tell lies every day without even thinking about it. We get so used to people lying to us everything from politicians to the people closest to us, that we don’t even think that it’s wrong. When something becomes normal it’s easy to think that it’s okay. Since everybody does it, we think that it’s okay to do it. We see politicians lie on a daily basis and they still get blessed, they’re still wealthy and prosperous, but it still doesn’t mean that it’s right. People often tell lies to protect themselves or to protect others. Is it still right? Sometimes people can do the wrong things for the right reasons, but is it still right?

I don’t believe God wants us to walk around in constant guilt and shame, but I do believe He uses the Holy Spirit to convict us when we do something wrong. It’s so that we can humble ourselves and turn to confessing and repenting of our sins. So that we can cleanse our heart from whatever wrong we’ve done, and that has grieved Him and the Holy Spirit. Jesus died for our sins, not for our perfections. Use the gift that was given to you by cleansing yourself, so that you can live with a Clean Heart and to have Life.

Practice honesty and practice saying your honest opinion. When somebody asks you whether you think their hair or dress is nice, be honest. You don’t need to give your opinion when it’s not asked for, but if someone asks be honest. Being an honest person makes people respect you and your opinion, if they know they are going to get an honest reply.

The Bible says in Proverbs 4:24: Put away deception from your mouth; keep your lips from perverse speech.

Confess and repent with your mouth for any lies, and believe that Jesus has saved you from your sins, because as Romans 10:10 says: “For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.” Confess with your mouth and say: “I confess with my mouth that I believe that Jesus has paid my debt, paid for my sins, that I am delivered and I a free. In Jesus Name.”

Also pray for forgiveness, and make it a habit of practicing both forgiveness and honesty.

Heart Cleansing Prayer

Dear Holy Spirit. I pray that you will help me see any wrongs I’ve done any sins I may have committed. Help me to confess, repent, cleanse myself from these sins, and to receive complete forgiveness.

I believe Jesus died for my sins as it’s written in 1 Peter 3:18: “For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit.”

I believe what is written in Galatians 3:13: “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”

I pray that my sins have been blotted out and I believe what you say in your word in Isaiah 44:2:2 “I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you.”

I confess and repent of any un-forgiveness, resentment, bitterness, hatred, anger, offense and dishonesty. I pray that the blood of Jesus will cleanse me from these sins, so that my heart can become pure, cleansed, healed and made new, so that I can have the Life Jesus died for me to have.

I confess and repent of judging others and being unforgiving towards other people. I pray that you will help me to not judge others so you will not judge me, and help me to forgive others so you will also forgive me.

Help me to cleanse my heart and to keep it clean, help me to make right, good and godly choices and decisions. Help me to Live a Clean, Pure and Righteous Life that is pleasing in your eyes. In Jesus Name.

John 9-10: I am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.
